The main components of Wadi El-Rayan region

The upper lakes

It has an area of ​​65 km and is found in Wadi Al-Masakhit, and it rises 20 meters above the lower lake, its salinity ratio is about 1.5 g / liter, and its maximum depth is 22 meters. The water level is 5 meters below sea level, and its water is semi-salty and renewable.

Inferior lake

It is located in Wadi Al-Rayan, reaching an area of ​​about 100 km, and it is a large lake and its salinity is higher than the upper lakes and it is about 2.5 g / liter as a result of the evaporation process and its maximum depth is 34 meters and the water level is 25 meters below sea level. The Al-Rayyan lakes are considered a clean, calm and beautiful natural environment. And free from pollution.

Falls area

It is represented in the area connecting the two lakes and is located in the Qassimat Valley. The difference in level between the two lakes reaches twenty meters. It consists of three natural waterfalls in which the water flows at a height more than among the forests of sedge, which is an area of ​​wonderful beauty and views and is suitable for fishing with no harm to the ecological balance In the area, it is suitable for marine sports such as diving, as well as recreational and tourist activities such as horseback riding, camel riding, golf courses in the waterfalls, vegetation and some geological structures. This area is considered one of the important natural components of ecotourism and it lacks only the delivery of facilities to it to provide comfort for visitors, as it needs a paved road as it is only 1000 meters away by contributing, it also needs to connect fresh water and telephones and it also needs an upper pedestrian bridge that connects Both sides of the waterfalls and the building of some chalets to receive tourists from all over the world.

Jabal al-Mudawara area

Jabal al-Mudawara is a high plateau in the form of a circle facing the other side, three hills close to the pyramids, and the water flows between them in the form of a tongue from the lake, and there is a beach at the bottom of the mountain with a length of about 500 meters and it is characterized by being shaded by the shadow of the mountain and it is one of the beautiful scenery very picturesque in the lake and this area is located Near the lower lake, a very beautiful area, and there is a mountain between the two rivers.

Qarat Hell region (Valley of the Whales)

The Wadi Qarah Hell area is located in the northwest of the upper lake in a remote desert region. Forty million years ago, Wadi El-Rayan was under an ocean and as a result of geological changes the ocean was confined, leaving behind some of the animals. The discovery of hundreds of fossilized skeletons of some proto-whale species, shark teeth, shells and other marine animals. There is a complete whale skeleton display in the Egyptian Geological Museum, and that area is considered an open museum. Large gatherings of these whale species can be seen.

Ayoun Al-Rayyan area

It is located south of the lower lake and has an area of ​​150 square kilometers, and the Ayyun al-Rayyan area is described as an area with an integrated desert environment, and it was named by this name due to the presence of some natural sulfur springs in it. The area consists of long, dense and moving sand dunes and there are four integrated natural sulfur springs suitable for curative and recreational tourism. The Ayyun al-Rayyan region is a region rich in plant life from palm and gardag forests and is confined to three mountains .. As for animal life, it is similar to wild animals such as the Egyptian deer, the Egyptian wolf, the red fox, the fiery white deer and the endangered one and it also contains more than a hundred species of birds, of which they reside or Migrant n Ali and about sixteen species of reptiles. This area does not need a paved road that passes between the sand dunes, especially as it is only 1000 meters away from the paved contribution.

Al-Rayyan mountain region

The Jabal Al-Rayyan region is represented in that mountainous region surrounding the Ain Al-Rayyan region, and it is called (Al-Rayyan's beaks) to take the mountain's beak shape, and those beaks surround the north-south region as well as the southwestern area of ​​the Ayyun al-Rayyan natural area and the area contains marine excavations and some antiquities. There are different types of birds in the area, such as the Shaheen falcon and the free falcon.
